Born and raised in a small farmers town in The Netherlands, Samara was exposed to many animals and agriculture. She developed an interest in animal well-being and green fingers from a young age.

“Being a food vegan since early 2021, I slowly have been replacing animal products like leather jackets and beanies made from wool with more ethical choices and also with the environment in mind. So it was time to replace my silk curly hair bonnet at the end of 2021. 

Soon enough I bumped into the problem of finding a hair bonnet made out of eco-friendly fabric with equal qualities to silk. In 2022 I decided to follow my dream of starting a company and created Better Be.

I have been resourcing all kinds of fabrics and went to manufacturers on my travels and I came to the conclusion that 100% bamboo was the answer. At that moment I was travelling in India, ordered a couple of metres of fabric and went to a stitcher to create the first prototypes.”
